As Eli Johnson delivered the final pitch on another district sweep, he also furnished his head coach with a milestone victory.

The Kingfisher baseball team moved to 4-0 in District 4A-4 games Monday with run-rule wins of 8-0 and 13-0 against Western Heights at Homier Field.

Three pitchers combined for two no-hitters as KHS has yet to allow a hit in district games and has won five of its last six after starting the season 0-5.

The second win of the night gave extra cause for celebration as it was the 300th career victory for head coach Stan Blundell.

You just wouldn’t know it by asking the coach.

“It’s more about the players we’ve had here,” said Blundell. “I’ve just been here a long time.”

Blundell began his head coaching career here in 2009.

Since then, he’s guided the Jackets to three state tournaments, including the only state tournament victory in program history in 2019.

The Jackets have been 300-186-1 during his tenure.

Western Heights provided little resistance though the Jets were coming off their lone win of the season against John Marshall.

However, Dallen Barton hushed their bats in the opener as he struck out 14 in the five-inning victory.

The Jackets collected five hits and also took advantage of six walks and two hit batters.

Two of the hits came off the bat of Bode Williams, who also had 3 RBIs.

He drove in a run with a single in the first and then two more with a double in the fifth inning.

The Jackets scored four times in that fifth to enact the run rule.

Coleman Gilles also had a run-scoring hit while Casen Chlouber plated a run with a groundout.

The second game saw Jett Braun and Johnson combine for the no-hitter.

Braun threw three innings and struck out five.

Johnson struck out the side in the final frame.

Williams and Daniel Guerrero each had two hits as the team managed seven overall while walking seven times.

Williams and Guerrero joined Johnson in driving in two runs apiece.

Barton, Tanner Parker and Johnson scored twice while Williams crossed home three times.

The Jackets play this weekend in the I-40 Classic before returning to district action Monday at Woodward. The Boomers return the visit to Kingfisher on Tuesday.
