Abby Swart earned most valuable player honors as Lomega maintained its dominance at the Canton Invitational.

Class B’s fourth-ranked Lady Raiders won the tournament for the fifth straight year Saturday with a 68-55 victory over No. 12 Arnett.

It’s the fourth consecutive year for Lomega to defeat Arnett in the championship game.

A big first half vaulted Lomega to its latest title.

The Lady Raiders made four 3-pointers in each of the first two quarters as they built up a 45-24 lead.

Swart made three of them in that first half.

She was joined by Kate Myers in scoring eight during the first quarter that saw Lomega build a 23-13 advantage.

Freshman Bree Yost made two treys in the second quarter as part of a 22-11 run.

Myers eventually led the team with 16 points.

Swart scored 15 while Monse Rivera added 11.

Arnett was led by Allie Tune’s 20 points. The loss snapped a five-game win streak for the Lady Wildcats.

Swart led a balanced attack in Friday’s 54-29 win over Canton in the semifinals.

She made three 3-pointers and scored 13 points.

Aliana Lawson added 12 and Rivera nine.

As in the title game, Lomega notched 10 3-pointers as a team.

Lawson, Myers and Rivera joined Swart on the all-tournament team.

Lomega is now 8-1 and has won eight straight games.

Lomega didn’t play in the Canton tournament in 2018, but won titles there in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
