Abby Swart returned to Lomega’s lineup Thursday… and made it count.

The junior scored 24 points as the Lady Raiders blitzed host Calumet 8442 in a Class B regional semifinal.

Second-ranked Lomega played No. 12 Dover in Saturday’s regional championship game (after press time) at Fairview. Both teams advance to this week’s area tournament.

Swart sat out Lomega’s district game after she was still feeling the effects of a hard fall in a game two weeks prior.

Against Calumet, she knocked down two early treys and scored eight points as the Lady Raiders got out to a 25-10 lead.

She had 15 points at halftime and then made three more treys in the fourth quarter.

Swart was one of five Lady Raiders (25-2) in double figures.

Darcy Roberts scored 13 points while Hadley Ott, Sydni Walker and Kate Myers added 10 apiece.

Lomega made 14 3-pointers in the game, led by Swart’s six.

Roberts, Ott and Myers made two each.

Chieftains put Lomega in consolation bracket

Fourth-ranked Calumet sent Lomega within a single loss of being eliminated from the playoffs.

The Chieftains got their second win over the Raiders this season Thursday by defeating them 74-47 in a regional semifinal.

That put Lomega in the consolation bracket where they played No. 13 Timberlake on Friday night (after press time).

The Raiders need two consolation bracket wins over the weekend to move into this week’s area tournament.

They were within 14-13 of Calumet after a quarter, but the hosts started to take

control in the second period.

The Chieftains went on an 18-7 run to lead by 12. They pushed it to an 18-point lead after three quarters.

Dalton Belcher led Calumet (24-1) with 19 points while Hunter Arnold scored 12.

Lomega (16-11) got 17 points from Ben Marsh, including 11 in the third quarter.

The Raiders also got seven from Lance Yost and six from Kelby Ott.
