Yellowjackets dominate qualifier
KHS has no problems advancing to regional
All five golfers shot in the 70s Monday as the Kingfisher boys cruised into the next round of the playoffs.
The Yellowjackets fired off a 303 at Kingfisher Golf Course to not only advance, but to handily win the Class 3A regional qualifier.
Perry was the runner-up with a 330. Also moving on to next week’s regional tournament at Purcell were Chisholm (348), Purcell (354), Mount St. Mary (358) and Prague (361).
KHS senior Tristun Burnham had the low round of the day as he turned in a 2-over-par 72. Burnham played the back-nine evenpar to gain medalist honors.
Three of his teammates tied for second place as Blake Hill, Cash Slezickey and Myles Harrison each shot a 77. They were joined at that total by Mount St. Mary’s Aiden Field.
Jax Sternberger was sixth overall with his 79.
The 36-hole regional will be held next Monday at Brent Bruehl Memorial Golf Course.
