Longtime newspaper publisher and Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame inductee Kenneth O. Reid passed away Monday.He was 98. Reid is the brother of Gary Reid, publisher emeritus, and uncle of Barry Reid, publisher of the Kingfisher Times & Free Press.

Apron Annies treat CFL residents, staff to annual Christmas party

Apron Annies HCE members (and husbands) hosted their annual Center of Family Love Christmas party Monday, Dec. 2, at the center. Residents and staff were treated to a special visit by Santa and his favorite reindeer, then took part in refreshments, pictures and singing Christmas carols.

Courthouse to receive electrical upgrades

Kingfisher County commissioners approved a contract with RPC Operations of Kingfisher Monday to update the courthouse electrical system.RPC submitted the sole bid on the project of $383,615.

No board elections needed

There will be no school board races on upcoming ballots in Kingfisher County.The filing period for open board of education seats ended Wednesday and only one candidate filed in each of the seven districts here.Five of them were incumbents.

Myers’ motion to quash is denied by judge

District Judge Paul Woodward on Wednesday denied Jeff Myers’ motion that sought to throw out the felony charge against him.The ruling was made after about a five-minute hearing at Kingfisher County District Court.
