DAR promotes Constitution Week: Sept. 17-23

Carolyn Flood and Jean Crosswhite, longtime local members of The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, have announced that Sept. 17-23 is Constitution Week and urge all area citizens to observe and honor the foundational document of national governance.

The University of Central Oklahoma announced that 311 students from Oklahoma, the U.S. and the world completed their college degrees during the summer 2024 semester.Since UCO does not hold a summer commencement ceremony, many of the students participated in the spring 2024 ceremony.

In an effort to curb skyrocketing workers’ compensation costs, Oklahoma lawmakers passed comprehensive work comp reform that went into effect in 2014. Early on, the returns were positive: the per-employee cost to purchase workers’ compensation insurance fell by 33 percent over the next three years.

RPC Operations bid awarded county shop remodel project

Kingfisher County commissioners awarded a contract to add an addition and remodel of the District 1 shop to RPC Operations of Kingfisher Monday.RPC submitted the low bid of $249,860 a week earlier, the lowest of six bids submitted. Bids ranged to a high of $518,000.
