El Reno man killed in local car accident

An accident Tuesday morning near Kingfisher’s hospital resulted in the death of an El Reno man.Hubert Bob Savell, 70, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which took place just after 10 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 81 and Kingfisher Regional Hospital Drive.

12 to receive FFAs highest honor

When the American FFA Degree recipients are presented their honors this year, there will once again be a strong Kingfisher County flavor.Twelve county students will receive FFA’s highest honor at the 97th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. The convention itself will be held Oct. 23-26.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Commission will hold its regularly- scheduled meeting this week in Kingfisher County.The meeting is 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at The Cedar Gate, located on County Road N2740 west of Kingfisher.Commissioners will meet in the Event Legacy Barn.

Riedlinger no longer seeks election recount

There will be no recount in the election for Kingfisher County sheriff.After initially stating he planned to seek a recount, Jonathan Riedlinger told the Times & Free Press early Friday evening that he changed his mind.
