The Kingfisher County 4-H Food Showdown and Cloverbud Cupcake Wars were held at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building last mont.There were 11 Cloverbuds who participated in the Cupcake Wars.The Cloverbuds decorated cupcakes as farm animals.

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:March 7 - No valid driver’s license, transporting open container- liquor, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited and possession of contraband by inmate.

May sales tax increases for two county communities

May sales tax checks were higher for Hennessey and Loyal, almost the same for Dover and down for the county’s other three municipalities.A slowdown in drilling activity could account for some fall off in sales tax collections locally compared to May 2023.

As is their tradition, volunteers with Memory Lane Inc. will be on hand throughout Memorial Day weekend to provide their brand of service to visitors.Members will be handing out water and helping visitors to Kingfi sher Cemetery locate graves.

Chief Warrant Officer Five (Retired) Jim Kale will serve as the guest speaker at Monday’s Memorial Day Service at Kingfisher Cemetery.Kale is post commander for Kingfisher’s Keith Lowry- Henry Ellyson American Legion Post 5, which annually presents the program at the cemetery.
