KPS board rehires most certified staff

Nearly seven dozen Kingfisher Public Schools certified staff were rehired for the 2024-25 school year.About three dozen more will have to wait another month to learn their fate.

Since 1947, students have been cultivating and expressing their creative talents at the Kingfisher County Fine Arts Festival and this year is no exception.Celebrating its 75th anniversary, the festival will take place Wednesday and Thursday, April 3-4, at Kingfisher and Hennessey.

The Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce’s annual city-wide garage sales has been moved into the spring this year.The sales will take place all across Kingfisher Saturday, April 6.

Hennessey school board accepts bid for sports parking lot project

The Hennessey Board of Education unanimously accepted the base bid of $929,859 for the paved football/baseball parking lot project on the east side of Mitchell Road north of Oklahoma Avenue.Hembree and Hodgson Construction LLC of Ponca City won the bid to add 71 paved parking spaces.

Hennessey Farmerettes have busy agenda at March meeting

The Hennessey Farmerettes, an Oklahoma Home and Community Education (OHCE) organization, met Wednesday, March 13, at the Hennessey First United Methodist Church for its March meeting.Members assembled 18 Easter bunny kits to be distributed to youth participating in a reading program at the library.
