School board races develop in early filings

Races have developed for two county school board seats after the first day of the filing period.Filing began Monday and ran through 5 p.m. Wednesday (after press time) for the seats opening up on all six county public school boards as well as Chisholm Trail Technology Center.

Alternatives to tax sought

Nearly 200 people attended Monday night’s meeting of the Kingfisher Board of Education and five community members addressed the board during public participation.The topic for all five was the board’s decision to settle the civil lawsuit against the school district and four coaches for $5 million.
