Local traffic accidents investigated by KPD

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department: August 31, 8:48 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and S.H. 33.Brandon White, 45, Cordell, driving a 2005 Peterbilt, was southbound in the outside lane of U.S. 81.

3 county towns higher in October sales tax report

Cashion, Hennessey and Kingfisher all had gains in their October sales tax checks compared to October 2022, according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.The Oct. 6, 2023 distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from August business.

Descendants of Behrend and Sarah Post met Sunday evening, Oct. 1, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church for a family reunion.The event was hosted by Alma Post along with her extended family.A potluck supper was served followed by a photo session, visiting and bingo while the young children played together.

Rotary Club hosts Kingfisher seniors

Seven Kingfisher High School seniors were guests recently at a meeting of the Kingfisher Rotary Club.Joining the local civic group were Jorden Beck, Jett Braun, Kylie Hood, Elijah Johnson, Charlie Johnson, Eli Johnson and Olivia Reyes.Beck is the son of Krystal and Anthony Beck.

You can carve it, paint it, and decorate a pumpkin (just no flames) in Hennessey’s second annual “Let’s line the streets with pumpkins” contest.The contest, sponsored by the Hennessey Lions Club, is open to all ages.Entries should be taken to Town Hall between Oct. 23-30 to register.
