Filing starts Monday for municipal offices in four Kingfisher County towns or cities.Candidates interested in filing for municipal offi ces can file Declarations of Candidacy beginning 8 a.m. Monday, Feb 6.

A director of a new state agency will be the featured speaker at the next meeting of the Kingfisher County Republican Women.Virgil Bonham will speak to the group at noon Monday, Feb. 13, at the Interbank Community Room.

The Hennessey United Methodist Men will host their annual after Groundhog Day meal from 11 a.m.1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4.It will be held in the Family Life Center at 201 S. Cherokee.Cost is for the meal of pancakes, eggs, sausage and coffee or juice is by donation.

The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry is accepting nominations for Gov. Stitt’s Outstanding Achievement in Agriculture Award.

Capt. Ken Jordan of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol was the guest speaker at a recent Kingfisher Lions Club meeting.Jordan has been commander of Troop J, which includes Kingfisher County, for a little over a year.“I’ve immersed myself in a lot of the different communities in the last year,” he said.
