Local traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department: November 22, 5:20 p.m. At U.S. 81 and S.H. 33.Cherie Lemke, 35, Okarche, driving a 2013 GMC, was stopped in the outside southbound lane of U.S. 81 at the traffic signal of S.H. 33 intersection.

Alleged straw owner arrested

A third defendant has been arrested and charged in Kingfisher County District Court in connection with an alleged illegal medical marijuana grow facility where four people were murdered in late November.Richard Ignacio, 35, of Oklahoma City, the allegedly false majority owner of Liu & Chen Inc.

Dover vote set Jan. 10

OG&E is asking Dover voters to approve another franchise agreement allowing the utility to continue distributing electricity within the town for the next 25 years.The special municipal election on the proposition is scheduled for 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10.

Candidates for the Kingfi sher County Fair Board can file for election Monday through Friday, Jan. 16-20, in the county clerk’s office at the courthouse.County Clerk Jeannie Boevers said an election will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb.

After more than 15 years as senior editor of the Times & Free Press, Christine Reid has resigned from the staff, effective Dec. 30.She’s accepted the position of assistant district attorney in Garfi eld County, starting work there Jan. 10.

Big 4 Fire Station remodel to begin

Kingfisher County commissioners authorized Calm Construction Co. of Yukon to proceed on the Big 4 Fire Station remodeling project at their weekly meeting Wednesday.Calm Construction won the project on a bid of $115,000.

Top chamber nominations sought now
