Golfers raise $7,500 for food bank

Thanks to some local golfers, the Jacket Food Pantry will have no problems keeping its shelves stocked in the foreseeable future.The Kingfisher Golf Association last Saturday presented a check for $7,500 to help fund the pantry, which is open to any family with students at Kingfisher Public Schools.

An entire steel support pallet, referred to as a skid, needs to be replaced at Hennessey’s 19-year-old reverse osmosis water plant.That’s what Hennessey Board of Trustees were told at their Thursday, June 9, meeting at Town Hall.

Healthy freezer meals subject of next Extension office lesson

Kingfisher County Extension will host a leader lesson next week on “Healthy Freezer Meals.” The lesson is 10-11 a.m.The lesson is 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 22.Participants will learn about freezer meal tips and will receive recipes of a variety of meals.

Hennessey Police Department reports

Following are recent reports filed by members of the Hennessey Police Department:Domestic violence – Police were dispatched to 209 E. Iowa St. at 11:43 p.m. May 12. One person was arrested for domestic violence and booked in at the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
