The Chisholm Trail Museum in Kingfisher will host Traditional Trades Day on Saturday, Aug. 21, The family-friendly event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free to the public.

Three loans were consolidated into one by Hennessey’s Utilities Authority last week. That will give the town a $1.104 million utility system and sales tax revenue note and reduce its interest rate from 2.70% to a 2.25% fixed rate. That’s an estimated savings of $4,067.

School supplies will be available for Hennessey students at the First Christian Church at Third and South Oak streets from 5-7 p.m. this Sunday, Aug. 8 instead of at the aquatic park. The church had been the usual site for students receiving supplies.

The Willms family reunion was held July 10 at the Kingfisher InterBank Community Room. Present from the Gerd Willms family were Dennis and Niki Smith, Steve Smith, Shawn Smith and Larry Smith, all of Kingfisher.

Kinlyn Meyer, 6, is the daughter of Zack and Kayla Meyer. She will be in kindergarten this year and it’s her first year in Cloverbuds. Her favorite part of being a member is making crafts.

Keith Rother, 7, is the son of Creston and Teneille Rother. He will be in first grade this year and it’s his second year in Cloverbuds. When he grows up, Keith wants to be a farmer, YouTuber and a monster truck driver. His favorite part of being a member is “everything.

Tiana (nee Ballinger) and Andrew Spurrier of Oklahoma City announce the birth of their daughter, Tulsi Brielle. Tulsi was born at 6:55 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2021, at Integris Health Edmond. She weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 19 inches.

All Hennessey students in pre-kindergarten through high school seniors are invited to meet their teachers Tuesday, Aug. 10 from 4-6 p.m. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Pre-k through fourth grade students will meet their new teachers and see their classrooms.

Dover FFA chapter visited Six Flags Over Texas for its annual officer retreat on July 23-24. On the first day, Braden Burns, state FFA secretary, was the instructor over the group’s leadership training course. Burns spoke about personal goals and had the officers do team building skills.
