W. Charles and Lois (Bailey) Henderson were married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Enid on Aug. 19, 1961. They both finished their college degrees, Chuck at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva and Lois at East Central University in Ada. They have two sons, Kris and Kurt.

John and Linda Zielny celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this week. Linda S. Shimanek and John W. Zielny were married Aug. 7, 1971, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hennessey. Linda is a retired school teacher and John is retired from the United States Post Office.

Cashion resident Mary Hasley received two surprise visits recently. Hasley was a homeroom mother for her son Mark Beutler’s class at Cashion Public School and two former classmates visited her at her Cashion home.

Family members and friends attended the 59th Bredel reunion on Saturday, July 24, at Interbank Community Room in Kingfisher. The families of Dennis and Carol Fisher, Marilyn Henderson and Carolyn Piguet hosted the reunion. A covered dish buffet was served.

A Dover man requested help from Kingfisher County commissioners to alleviate flooding issues at his property that he says has caused major damage to his home multiple times. Jeremy Ingle, who lives northeast of Dover, addressed the commission at its regular weekly meeting last Monday.

Two people spoke in favor of the current Kingfisher High School coaching staff, but dozens were on hand Monday to show their support at the district’s board of education meeting.

Approval of a Hennessey ordinance dealing with construction and building codes failed again last Thursday night in a 2-2 vote. The tie came after local builders complained again about high permit costs and the need for an in-house building inspector.
