June 29 – Sgt. Aaron Pitts was advised at 6:20 p.m. that a vehicle reported stolen in Enid was parked at a Hennessey residence. Pitts contacted Kingfisher County Deputy Rodney Walker for assistance.

BOOK SIGNING — Eloise Gray, pastor of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Dover, will be signing copies of her book, Women of Valor, from 11-11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Chisholm Trail Museum in Kingfisher. The book is currently ranked No. 1 in sales on Amazon among new evangelical releases.

A fish fry fundraiser is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday at the Hennessey Senior Citizen Center, 620 E. Second St. The center was hit hard during the Covid pandemic and is struggling to remain open.

Four contenders were selected to ride in the Kingfisher Fourth of July Parade as L’il Miss and Mister Firecrackers.

If 2020’s abbreviated or canceled Independence Day celebrations left you hankering for a really big bang this year, you’re in luck. Between Cashion, Kingfisher and Hennessey, local residents can enjoy three days of July 4th celebrations without ever leaving the county.

Kingfisher Educational Foundation’s Duck Race has become an annual event in Kingfisher’s extended July 4 activities. This year’s race is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Vernie Snow Aquatic Center.
