Small nonfarm businesses in 19 Oklahoma counties are now eligible to apply for low-interest federal disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, announced Director Tanya N. Garfield of SBA’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West. Kingfisher County is among those included.

Elementary teachers Jordan Waltman lives in Kingfisher, is certified to teach early childhood and elementary and will teach third grade. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in May with a bachelor’s in early childhood education.

The following traffic accident is being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department: June 18, 5:30 a.m. - At Will Rogers Drive and U.S. 81. Gregory Terry, 38, Oklahoma City, driving a 2018 Subaru, was northbound in the inside lane of U.S.

Kingfisher County commissioners approved a heat and air maintenance contract totaling $14,461 with Johnson Controls of Oklahoma City at their meeting. They designated that the cost be paid from the county half-cent sales tax account.

June 29 – Sgt. Aaron Pitts was advised at 6:20 p.m. that a vehicle reported stolen in Enid was parked at a Hennessey residence. Pitts contacted Kingfisher County Deputy Rodney Walker for assistance.

BOOK SIGNING — Eloise Gray, pastor of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Dover, will be signing copies of her book, Women of Valor, from 11-11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Chisholm Trail Museum in Kingfisher. The book is currently ranked No. 1 in sales on Amazon among new evangelical releases.

A fish fry fundraiser is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday at the Hennessey Senior Citizen Center, 620 E. Second St. The center was hit hard during the Covid pandemic and is struggling to remain open.

Four contenders were selected to ride in the Kingfisher Fourth of July Parade as L’il Miss and Mister Firecrackers.
