Kadavy and Skarky families hold gathering

Since 1894, members of the Kadavy family have been gathering to celebrate various family functions in the Kingfisher area.Along the way, a Kadavy brother married a Skarky sister and a Skarky brother married a Kadavy sister... and the celebrations became the Kadavy/Skarky gatherings.

August sales tax check up for Kingfisher, others

Four Kingfisher County municipalities – Kingfisher, Hennessey, Cashion and Loyal – saw increases in their August sales tax checks, according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission report.The OTC collects sales tax money for cities, towns and counties along with the state sales tax.

County man faces fentanyl charge

A home visit by a parole officer has seen a Kingfisher County man jailed on a felony drug charge after fentanyl was allegedly found in his home.Charged Aug. 20 in Kingfisher County District Court was Joshua Joe Maddox, 42, of Hennessey.

Kingfisher County residents got relief from the scorching temperatures last Tuesday evening.But it came at a price for some.A storm system moved through this part of the state and brought some welcome rain, but also a fair amount of damage to a residents and businesses on one county road.

Hennessey Town Board sets special meeting date

A special meeting of the Hennessey Board of Trustees and Utilities Authority is scheduled at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27.This meeting will be held at the Senior Citizen Center.
