Maddi Kamas from topranked Oklahoma City University took NAIA women’s golf player of the week for March 28-April 3.Kamas, a freshman from Kingfisher, became the first Star to haul in national golfer of the week since Melissa Eldredge for April 15-21, 2019.

Sophomore Kylie Hood and freshman Raegan Snider shot their best rounds of the season on Wednesday, but couldn’t crack the list of medal winners at the Kingfisher Girls Large School Invitational golf tournament.

Raegan Snider has a pair of top-10 finishes in her first two varsity golf events.The Kingfisher High School freshman fired a 93 at Prairie West during the Weatherford Girls Invitational on March 23.That was good enough for fifth place individually.

Kingfisher brought home a trio of gold medals last Friday from the Watonga High School Invitational track and field meet.Two of those belonged to sprinter Maximus Washington.The senior once again won the 100 and 200 meter dashes as he led KHS to a fourth place finish.

Kingfisher was able to salvage a win on the final day of the Shed Classic baseball tournament hosted at Homier Field.The Jackets closed out the tournament Saturday with a 12-2 run-rule victory over Vici.That came after a trio of losses on the tournament’s first two days.
