Several years ago I read in a man’s magazine (not Playboy, probably Popular Mechanics) a list of the top ten tools of all time. Duct tape was number one and “Vice” Grips was also included, which according to mine is properly spelled Vise Grips®. Believe me, Vise Grips® have no vices.

Kingfisher FFA members to receive American Degrees; others compete

Peyton Burns, Lane Dobrovolny, Kaleb Mercer and Bree Taylor will represent the Kingfisher chapter this year in receiving their American FFA Degree. Typically they would be receiving this prestigious award at the national convention, but this year the convention will be hosted virtually.

House, Smith exchange wedding vows during Grand Lake ceremony

Rachel House and Tyler Smith, both of Yukon, were united in marriage on April 4, 2020. The bride is the daughter of Mark and Robyn House of Mustang. The bridegroom is the son of Chris and Linda Smith of Grand Lake and formerly of Kingfisher. The couple exchanged wedding vows at 3 p.m.

McCully, Dick named September Junior Lions

Kingfisher High School seniors Maggie McCully and Caleb Dick were announced as the Kingfisher Lions Club’s Junior Lions for September 2020. The two were guests Thursday at the civic group’s weekly meeting. McCully is the daughter of Mark and Johnnie Sue McCully.

33rd Life Chain event set next month in Hennessey

A local group will be hosting an annual pro-life event early next month in Hennessey. Life Chain will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at the corner of U.S. Highway 81 and State Highway 51. This is the 33rd year for Life Chain.

Be sure to vote With election day less than 50 days away, its important that we all vote. Some have voted by absentee ballots, I think the timeline for that has passed. We plan to go to the polls and vote. If you have a friend or relative that needs a ride to the polls, help them.
