The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: May 7 - Identity theft. Officer Justin Trumbley took a report of identity theft.

The state Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry recently announced its 2020-21 Agriculture Youth Council. Among the members is Braden Burns of Kingfisher High School.

The University of Central Oklahoma will celebrate the achievements of approximately 1,458 graduates during the Spring 2020 Virtual Commencement Ceremony in light of in-person commencement ceremonies being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The University of Central Oklahoma College of Education and Professional Studies recently awarded Kingfisher resident Isaac Waltman several scholarships for the upcoming fall and spring semesters in recognition of his academic achievements and outstanding service to the university.

Redlands Community College recently announced students named to the college’s honor rolls for the Spring 2020 semester. Students listed on the President’s Honor Roll have completed 12 or more credit hours and have earned a GPA of not less than 3.

The Kingfisher County Courthouse reopened Monday as scheduled.

The state, county and local gradual opening plans all advanced to new phases this week as benchmarks continue to be met on COVID-19 infection containment.

Colby Campbell had a goal entering his senior season of golf. He wanted to add to Kingfisher High School’s rich tradition as its latest golfer to earn All-State status. A huge kink was put in those plans when the OSSAA voted in April to cancel the entire spring sports season.

Oklahoma isn’t the only place Maddi Kamas wins golf tournaments. Kamas returned to competition earlier this month and made it a successful one with a five-stroke victory in the Bridlewood Spring Blast in Flower Mound, Texas.
