Hennessey board set Friday meeting on street repairs, more

An in-person special meeting at Town Hall by the Hennessey Board of Trustees was set 4 p.m. Friday, May 1 to act on a $11,280 quote for street repairs near the co-op elevator in the 100 block of West Kansas Street. The repairs are apparently needed due to waterline issues.

Gallupe, Olivares are May Junior Lions

The Kingfisher Lions Club has announced its Junior Lions for May 2020. Recipients of the honor are Kingfisher High School seniors Anna Gallupe and Diego Olivares. Gallupe is the daughter of Grant and Connie Gallupe.

KPS board to consider graduation plans, hire personnel at May meet

Kingfisher Board of Education is expected Monday to approve final graduation plans along with other end-of-year activities that have been affected by the early school closure. The moves will be made as part of a busy agenda when the board holds its regular May meeting at 7 p.m.

George ‘Robert’ Moore

George ‘Robert’ Moore passed away April 20, 2020, in Henderson, Nev. Robert was born Nov. 17, 1940, in Altus to George Hoyle Moore and Edith Knight Moore. The family lived in Altus before eventually moving to Mangum.

Woody, McDowell are OCA All-State

Kingfisher County will have a pair of representatives at the Oklahoma Coaches Association’s All-State basketball games this year. Rachel McDowell of Okarche and Jacob Woody of Cashion earned the distinction of being OCA All-State picks when the group announced its selections last week.
