Kingfisher Study Club met Jan. 8 in the Sherry Blair home with Linda Randall as co-hostess. President Melda Fischer opened the meeting reading from “Live and Learn and Pass It On” then asked the 14 members present to answer roll telling something they had learned in life.

Bookcase Review Club set to meet

The Kingfisher Bookcase Review Club will meet Monday, Jan. 27. The meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Farm Bureau Insurance, 117 W. Sheridan. A $10 Dutch treat lunch will be served. Kathy Kadavy of Kingfisher will review “Cherokee America” by Margaret Verble.

The funeral for Jack G. Witt, 74, was Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, at Dover Christian Church, offi ciated by the Rev. Fred Jones. Burial followed at Dover Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home in Hennessey. Jack was born in Enid on Oct.

Geary woman killed in crash

A 31-year-old Geary woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a Jan. 6 traffi c accident on S.H. 270 just west of Chisholm Road east of Geary, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Michelle A. Brockman of Geary was driving a 2008 Mini Cooper that was traveling east on S.H.
