The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: December 8 - Driving while license suspended and warrant. Offi cer Dillon Chaloupek stated in his report that while he was on patrol at 10:26 p.m.

2019 in SPORTS: The good, the bad and the tragic

The 2018-19 school year was arguably the most successful one ever for Kingfisher High School athletics. From multiple team and individual state championships to school records and even academic successes, the year was a fruitful one for the Yellowjackets.

Local teams return to action this week

Most area basketball teams are going to return to the court before students get back to their classrooms from Christmas break. Five schools are playing games this weekend, a majority of them Friday. That includes Kingfisher, which hosts Cache Friday night at the APB. Girls tipoff is 6:30 p.m.

Phillip Burns

Phillip Glenn Burns, Kingfisher, was born September 23, 1925 in Dover to Glenn and Elsie Shatto Burns, the eldest of four children. He passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019. He was 94.

John Ahlden

John “Richard” Ahlden was born Sept. 2, 1940, to John and Mabel Duggan Ahlden. He died Dec. 22, 2019, at Cimarron Nursing Center in Kingfisher at the age of 79. Richard was baptized Sept. 29, 1940, and confirmed April 11, 1954, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Okarche.

Larry Maddox

Graveside services for Larry Maddox, 80 were Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Hennessey Cemetery pavilion officiated by Vernon Racer. Arrangements were by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home. Larry was born south of Drummond on June 26, 1939, to Roy V. and Minnie L. Goodpasture Maddox and died Thursday, Dec.
