THE VOTES ARE IN... Abercrombie, Myers earn top 3A-1 honors

Two Kingfisher High School football players earned Most Valuable Player honors when the District 3A-1 awards were announced recently. Riley Myers was named the co-Defensive MVP and Clayton Abercrombie the Special Teams MVP after a vote of the district’s coaches.

Cashion’s Harrell is A-3 MVP

Cashion’s Caden Harrell highlighted the list of players honored when the A-3 All-District honors were announced last week. Harrell was named MVP of the district, which Cashion won with a 6-0 record. The two-way threat led Cashion’s stifl ing defense with 128 tackles while playing linebacker.

Visiting dogs a form of therapy at CFL

A group including fi ve therapy dogs and their handlers certified with Therapy Dogs International visited the Center of Family Love recently to participate in a pet therapy activity. The event was hosted by the 2019-20 Center of Family Love Teen Board.

Memorial service for Melvin Edward Thompson, 78, was Dec. 26 at Dover Christian Church offi ciated by Rev. Fred Jones. Cremation arrangements were by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home. Mel was born in Kingfi sher on June 8, 1941, to George and Lorraine Roberts Thompson and passed away Sunday, Dec.
