Phyllis Frost

Phyllis Jean Frost, 65, was born July 19, 1954, to Pat Ray and Dorothy Frost in Mena, Ark., and passed away in Orange County, Calif., on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. Phyllis was active in track, basketball, softball and band.

Edward Seiger

Edward Lee Seiger was born April 21, 1948, in Los Animas, Colo., to Otis and Thelma (Slape) Seiger and passed away Dec. 23, 2019, at the age of 71. Edward attended Hennessey Schools. He was in the U.S. Army from May 7, 1970, to May 6, 1976, and received a National Defense Service Medal.

Traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfi sher Police Department. November 26, 3:30 p.m. - At U.S. 81 and Will Rogers Drive. Hugh Branscum, 87, Kingfi sher, driving a 2019 Toyota Tacoma, exited McDonald’s parking lot and was southbound in the right lane of U.S. 81.

SANTA’S TOYLAND, a decades-long Kingfisher County tradition, passed this year from under the umbrella of the Kingfi sher County Department of Human Services to the Kingfisher Community Collaborative, which made the magic happen for 207 children from 70 families.

$10.2 million paid so far in property taxes

Kingfisher County property owners had paid $10,167,540.09 in ad valor-em tax by Monday, County Treasurer Robin Rother announced. That is 27.129 percent of the total abstract of $37,422,815 certified for collection.

3 area towns see December sales tax boost

Sales tax collections were higher across Oklahoma for December and Cashion, Loyal and Okarche joined the municipalities with increases. Although other area towns received smaller checks than last December, three of them – Kingfi sher, Hennessey and Crescent – had larger checks than in November.

Wittrocks guests at recent Rotary meet

Kingfisher Rotary Club hosted three Kingfisher High School seniors at its Dec. 17 regular meeting. Joining the civic group were Hannah Wittrock, Hunter Wittrock and Hayden Wittrock. The triplets are the daughter and sons of Jeff and Heather Wittrock.
