Hennessey school board members discussed the superintendent’s health issues with him in a closed meeting Monday night. Supt. Dr. Mike Woods critically injured his back in a one-vehicle accident the afternoon before the board’s Nov. 11 meeting, and underwent extensive back surgery.

$37.4 million in county ad val tax bills mailed out last week

The 2019 ad valorem tax bills went into the mail Thursday to Kingfi sher County property owners. County Treasurer Robin Rother announced that the 2019 ad valorem tax abstract totals $37,442,543 based on a county net assessed valuation of $468,627,410.

School elections develop

Two county school board races have developed after the candidate filing period ended Wednesday, Kingfi sher County Election Board Secretary Shawna Butts reported. Kingfisher Public Schools Incumbent Carly Franks filed for re-election and will face two challengers in the Feb.

Trista Costa has begun duties as new executive director of the Kingfi sher County Farm Service Agency. She succeeds Randall Newton who retired at the end of November after 32 years as county executive director. Although she offi cially began her new responsibilities here on Dec.
