No family should be without food this holiday season. The giving season is the perfect time to take advantage of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma’s Holiday Match. The Regional Food Bank provides food to a number of Kingfi sher County food resources.

Kunneman hosts Plainview HCE’s November regular meeting

The Plainview HCE met Nov. 11 at Peg Kunneman’s home and the meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m. by President Dana Golbek. Members recited pledges to American and Oklahoma flags. Devotional was read by Peg Kunneman from the book of Revelations.

4 KHS seniors are Rotary Club guests

Kingfisher Rotary Club hosted four Kingfisher High School seniors at a recent meeting. Joining the civic group were Wendy Orozco Vega, Anna Gallupe, Karissa Stitt and Emma Waltman. Vega is the daughter of Gerardo Orozco and Manuela Vega.

Title defense officially under way

A new era of Kingfisher High School boys basketball got a familiar result in its season opener. The Yellowjackets got standout performances from Matthew Stone and Bijan Cortes and they got more than enough help in a 58-40 victory Tuesday night in Newcastle.

Okarche opens TRC play with sweep

Okarche nearly let its conference opener slip away, but free throw shooting down the stretch kept victory in its grasp. The Warriors shot 10 of 14 from the foul line in overtime to outlast Watonga on Tuesday for a 69-59 road victory.

KMS squads split with visiting Blanchard

Two players scored in double fi gures and seven overall as the Kingfisher eighth grade girls remained unbeaten. The Lady Jackets dominated from the tip en route to a 37-25 win Monday against Blanchard at the APB. Peyton Walker scored 12 points and Siera Stitt 10 as Kingfi sher improved to 6-0.
