DCP county tax appeals settled

Kingfisher County Assessor Carolyn Mulherin and DCP Operating Co. reached a negotiated settlement this month setting a fair cash value for property tax purposes after five years of litigation. The agreed valuation for the company’s property located in the county totals $490.

Perez accepted into College of Pharmacy

KHS grad gets word from SWOSU: Liliana Perez of Kingfisher has been accepted into the Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy at Weatherford. Forty-four students were admitted into the Doctor of Pharmacy program for the 2019 fall semester.

Museum hosts Chuck Wagon Gathering

Blood drives planned this month in Kingfisher, Hennessey, Cashion

Oklahoma Blood Institute has a trio of blood drives scheduled this month in Kingfisher County. Scheduled are: • Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Walmart in Kingfisher from 1-6 p.m.; • Friday, Oct. 25 at Hennessey High School from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; • Monday Oct. 28 at Cashion High School from 1-5 p.m.

Okarche’s Hanrahan has one of Tulsa State Fair’s top heifers

Sage Hanrahan, a seventh grader at Okarche and a Kingfisher County 4-H member, exhibited the third overall supreme heifer recently at the Tulsa State Fair. Sage is pictured on the halter with her Limousin heifer that won breed champion prior to taking third overall supreme.

KHS finds ‘quick start’ button

With one exception this season, Kingfisher’s starts to its football games have been, in a word, lackluster. “It’s been something we as coaches haven’t been able to put our finger on,” head coach Jeff Myers said.
