The Center of Family Love didn’t let go of its record for hosting Oklahoma City’s single most profitable and most attended fundraiser when the sixth annual Gift of Love Gala drew more than 830 guests to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum last Saturday.

Frustration is the word of the week for Kingfisher County farmers.Producers continued to fight muddy fields last week as the 2019 grain harvest dragged into its fourth week.

Mark Snowden, chief executive officer of Cimarron Electric Cooperative, invited the Kingfisher Lions Club to take a tour of the cooperative’s new office space. The Lions got that glimpse Thursday on a field trip in place of their regular weekly luncheon meeting.

Macy Eminger and Emily Faith, both of Kingfisher, competed recently in statewide pageants. Faith was the second runner-up and overall talent winner in the Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen pageant where she competed as Miss Oklahoma City’s Outstanding Teen. She won $7,200 in scholarship money.

Helen (Corcorran) Gambrell, 96, the mother of Larry Gambrell of Kingfisher, died Monday, June 17, 2019, at Corn Heritage Village Nursing Home. She lived on the farm in Sentinel for many years with her husband George “Doc” Gambrell, who preceded her in death in 2008.

June sales tax checks for municipalities and counties were higher for the state and the city of Kingfisher and Kingfisher County but were down for other towns in the county and several other neighboring municipalities. Kingfisher received a June sales tax check of $518,512.47 which was 48.

An Enid truck driver underwent surgery on his left hand Thursday at OU Medical Center to treat injuries he suffered in a rollover accident Thursday morning about 10 miles east of U.S. 81 on the Dover-Crescent Road.
