FEMA OKs county aid

Gov. Kevin Stitt announced Thursday that the Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved the state’s request for disaster assistance for six more Oklahoma counties, including Kingfisher.

Macy Eminger and Emily Faith, both of Kingfisher, competed recently in statewide pageants. Faith was the second runner-up and overall talent winner in the Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen pageant where she competed as Miss Oklahoma City’s Outstanding Teen. She won $7,200 in scholarship money.

Helen Gambrell

Helen (Corcorran) Gambrell, 96, the mother of Larry Gambrell of Kingfisher, died Monday, June 17, 2019, at Corn Heritage Village Nursing Home. She lived on the farm in Sentinel for many years with her husband George “Doc” Gambrell, who preceded her in death in 2008.

Kingfisher banks another big sales tax check

June sales tax checks for municipalities and counties were higher for the state and the city of Kingfisher and Kingfisher County but were down for other towns in the county and several other neighboring municipalities. Kingfisher received a June sales tax check of $518,512.47 which was 48.
