HOLY TRINITY STUDENTS AMONG BEST IN AFR CONTEST

HOLY TRINITY Catholic School students Arron Osborn, left, and Kate Pinkerton were recently selected in the top 100 posters of the 2018 AFR poster contest. Pinkerton is a first grader and Osborn is in third grade. More than 5,000 posters were submitted to the AFR state office this year.

Donald R. Black, 85, a longtime resident of Weatherford, died Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Cimarron Nursing Home in Kingfisher. Don was raised in Seminole and after high school graduation he attended Oklahoma A&M, where he pursued a degree in psychology.

HOTDOGS AGAINST HUNGER

The Lomega 4-H Cloverbuds, ages 5-8, recently helped ensure the food security of their neighbors in the Loyal, Omega and Hitchcock community. The children sold hotdogs last month at Atwoods in Kingfisher to raise funds for the Lomega Food Pantry.

Kingfisher Traffic Accidents

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following traffic incidents:March 26, 2:32 p.m. — Main and Will Rogers. Involved were John A. Mitchell, 84, of Dover, driving a 2019 GMC Sierra; John Tyler Garcia, 31, of Blanchard, driving a 2018 Ford F55.

KINGFISHER COUNTY Department of Human Services child welfare workers and members of the Multidisciplinary Child Abuse Response Team gathered to place pinwheels in the Kingfisher County Courthouse lawn last week to commemorate April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
