Fifteen minutes after Paul Hix was hired as Hennessey’s head football coach and athletic director for the remainder of this year and next year, he met about 30 of his future players. Their smiles widened when the coach said they’d see “how high the scoreboard can go” next season.

Voting begins Thursday for Kingfisher County municipal and school board elections. Early voting is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Kingfisher County Election Board at the courthouse. Regular voting is from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Glenda Kay Boeckman Wolf, 53, special education director for Kingfisher Public Schools and longtime champion for adults and children with physical and intellectual challenges, died Sunday, March 24, at the end of a year-long cancer battle.
