Dover’s best fast-pitch softball season came to an end Thursday.

Leedey defeated the Lady Longhorns in back-to-back games in Kingfisher to claim a Class B district championship.

Dover was the district host, but with its softball field under construction, the district was moved to Kingfisher.

The Lady Longhorns opened with a 12-0 win over Geary. Leedey later eliminated the Lady Bison with an 18-2 run-rule victory.

Dover and the Lady Bison were scoreless for much of their first contest, but Leedey erupted late to win 17-3.

The Lady Bison secured the district crown with a 12-0 victory in the second game.

The loss ends Dover’s season with a 16-13 record in Matt Peck’s first year as head coach.

Leedey is coached by former Dover baseball coach Eric Castle.

Okarche’s season also came to a close.

The Lady Warriors were defeated 13-7 and 18-6 in a Class A district at No. 12 Hydro-Eakly.

Okarche’s season record was 15-12.
