Florence Elizabeth (Naberhaus) “Flo” Wood passed away at the age of 90 on July 3, 2021, at Hennessey Nursing Home & Rehab Center.

She was born Sept. 15, 1930, to William and Catherine Naberhaus in Okarche.

On April 3, 1951, she married Louis P. Schoelen and together they raised six children in Kingfisher and were married for 39 years until his passing in 1990.

Flo served as the assistant administrator for Kingfisher Regional Hospital for 30-plus years until her retirement in 2006.

She was a longtime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she served as choir director for 35 years.

Flo married longtime church friend Clarence Wood on Dec. 9, 2004, and they enjoyed 19 happy years together before his passing in 2013. She was involved in the Altar Society and enjoyed painting nails of the residents at Countrywood Assisted Living as well as sewing, gardening, singing and playing the piano and autoharp.

Her greatest joy was spending time with friends and family, especially all of her grandchildren.

She is survived by four siblings, Millie Fightmaster of Crescent, Barbara Meiser of Oklahoma City, Bill Naberhaus of Stratford and Evelyn Bell of Oklahoma City; six children, Luke Schoelen (Jeannie), Joanie Schoelen, Janie Mercer (Joe) and Mark Schoelen, all of Kingfisher, Jeff Schoelen (Ute) of Franklin, Tenn., and Michael Schoelen.

She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at Sanders Funeral Home Chapel in Kingfisher.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 9, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher followed by interment at Kingfisher Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Center of Family Love in Okarche or Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher.
