Kingfisher and Cashion advanced to regional baseball tournaments with home playoff sweeps on Thursday.

Cashion, ranked sixth in Class 2A, took care of Merritt 10-0 and 10-3 in a best-of-three district tournament.

That puts the Wildcats into a regional tournament this week, one they’ll likely host. The OSSAA will announce regional tournament assignments Monday.

Kingfisher defeated Madill 6-1 and 9-3 in a Class 4A bi-district.

James Perdue got the win in the opener with sixinnings of solid work.

The senior gave up just two hits. Although he walked six batters, he also struck out seven.

The Jackets scored three times in the first inning, including Tate Barton on a passed ball and then Slade Snodgrass on an RBI groundout from Eli Johnson.

Barton and Snodgrass scored two runs apiece in the game.

Dallen Barton closed out the win with one inning of work on the mound.

He also relieved Snodgrass in the seventh inning of the clinching game.

Barton threw 2/3 innings to secure the second victory.

Snodgrass went 6 1/3 innings and struck out 10 batters.

Two of the three runs he surrendered were earned.

The Jackets again struck early with three runs in the first.

Johnson laid down a bunt with the bases loaded.

The play resulted in Snodgrass, Isaiah Medellin and Brayden States scoring.

Johnson later doubled in another run in the fifth inning.

KHS moved to 13-21 with the victories.

The Jackets will play in a four-team regional at Tuttle beginning Thursday.
