Kingfisher gave up 19 runs to Woodward over two days.

And still both wins.

The Jackets rode the strength of a seven-run third inning Tuesday to complete the home-and-home District 4A-4 baseball sweep with a 12-10 victory at Homier Field.

That came after Monday’s 10-9 victory on the road (story was in Wednesday edition).

Playing in blustery conditions, the Jackets found themselves trailing 8-3 after surrendering six runs in the top of the third.

However, on the strength of two hits, three errors and a few walks, the Jackets took the lead back.

Both hits came off the bat of Brayden States.

He led off the inning with a single and later scored on a passed ball.

States then delivered a two-run double in his second appearance of the inning.

The Boomers tied the game in the fifth, but again KHS had the answer in the bottom half.

Dallen Barton provided what proved to be the game-winning hit as his single scored Slade Snodgrass.

The Jackets got an insurance run when James Perdue’s groundout pushed home Isaiah Medellin.

Perdue got the win for the Jackets as he pitched all but the first and last inning.

Perdue struck out three and walked six over his five innings. He also got the save in the previous night’s game.

Snodgrass sat down the Boomers in order in the seventh for the save. He struck out two batters.

The senior also scored three times and drove in two runs.

States finished with 3 RBIs and was 2 for 3 at the plate.

Tate Barton and Medellin also had two hits and scored twice each for KHS.

The win bumped KHS to 8-4 on the season. The Jackets are currently 6-0 in district games.
