Okarche ended its pre-holiday schedule with another win over a ranked foe.

The Lady Warriors on Friday rode the momentum of their hot start to a 58-43 win at Watonga.

Watonga entered the night with a 5-1 mark and ranked 14th in Class 2A.

However, the Lady Eagles quickly found themselves down 23-10.

Jadyn Rother, Sophie Vandendriessche and Jalie Rother all hit a 3-pointer in the quarter, but the Lady Warriors were pushed by Emma Stover’s nine points.

Watonga never could close the gap.

Stover ended her night with 18 points.

Jalie Rother added three more 3-pointers in the third quarter and scored 14 overall.

Jadyn Rother finished with 12.

The win pushed Okarche to 12-1 overall and 3-0 in Three Rivers Conference games.

Eagles pull away from Okarche boys

Watonga picked up its sixth straight win and put an end to Okarche’s win streak in the same night.

The Eagles outscored Okarche in each quarter to pull away for a 67-53 home win on Friday.

Okarche had won three straight, but fell to 9-4 overall with the loss. The Warriors are now 2-1 in conference games.

They trailed by just two points after a quarter and by five at halftime, but never got going from 3-point range to cut into their deficit.

The Warriors were just 2 of 18 (11 percent) from beyond the arc. Watonga was 8 of 20.

The Eagles’ Deondre Dunn made three of those treys as part of his 25 points.

Okarche was led by Caden Schieber’s 16.

Hunter Mueggenborg added 13 and Brayden Stover 11.
