Garrett earns P.E.O. STAR Scholarship

Natalie Garrett of Kingfi sher has been selected as one of the recipients of the 2025 P.E.O. STAR Scholarship.The scholarship awards Garrett $2,500 for the 2025-26 academic year.

Abercrombie pleads guilty to fraud

Timothy Shane Abercrombie pleaded guilty to bank fraud Thursday during an appearance in federal court.The former vice president at the Kingfisher branch at InterBank was charged in federal court in April with defrauding the bank of nearly $900,000.

Kingfi sher Elks Lodge awarded more than $8,000 in scholarships recently at the annual Elks Honors Banquet. Lodge offi - cers and members recognized honor graduates and their parents from throughout Kingfi sher County during the banquet held May 8 at the lodge’s south room.
