Copeland tabbed to fill board seat

A familiar face has returned to the Kingfisher Board of Education.After more than an hour in executive session Monday, board members voted to appoint Mike Copeland to fill an unexpired term for Seat #1 on the board.

Hennessey board rehires all principals

All four Hennessey building principals and the assistant high and middle school principal were rehired for the 2025-26 school year by the Hennessey Board of Education.

Bids opened, tabled for HFD brush truck

Kingfisher County commissioners opened seven bids on brush truck equipment for the Hennessey Fire Department, then tabled action until next week’s meeting to allow department members to study them more fully.The bids follow: Jim’s Welding, $168,000; C3 Customs, $145,000; Myder LLC, $141,346.

Extension Meeting: 40-gallon Challenge

Kingfisher County Extension will present a lesson on the topic of the “40-Gallon Challenge” at an upcoming meeting.The meeting is planned for 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26.The lesson will focus on rain barrels and how to make one.

Kingfisher High School seniors Keynun Combs and Kadyn Daugherty are the February 2025 Junior Lions.The two were guests at a recent meeting of the Kingfisher Lions Club.Combs is the son of Tom and Erin Newell and Chris and Jamie Combs.
