Rain drought ends with Wednesday night storms

Rain, vital to recently- and earlier-sown small grain fields, made a late October appearance in Kingfi sher County Wednesday evening.Amounts ranged from .68 inch at the David Krittenbrink residence in Okarche to three inches on Country Lane northwest of Kingfisher.

State’s high court denies KPS petition

The state Supreme Court will not step into the fray between Kingfisher Public Schools and the Kingfisher County Excise Board.The court handed down a decision Monday denying KPS’ application to assume original jurisdiction. All justices except one concurred with the decision.

Early voting started Wednesday; Butts offers election day tips

In-person absentee voting for next Tuesday’s general election began Wednesday and will end this Saturday, Nov. 2.The voting will be held in the MAC Center on the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds in Kingfisher.Dates and times for the final three days of early voting are:• Thursday, Oct. 31 – 8 a.m.

County opens annex demolition bids, extends burn ban for week

Kingfisher County commissioners opened six bids on demolition and disposal of the county annex building Monday, but tabled action until next week’s meeting to allow time for additional study.Bidders and their bids in order of opening follow: Jackson Civil – $136,891.10.Mid-West Wrecking $97,840.00.
