Hennessey Board of Education calls for annual election

A resolution calling for the 2025 annual school election was approved with candidate filing for seat 5 scheduled Dec. 2-4 at the Kingfisher County Election Board.That seat is currently held by President Patrick Griffin. He told the KT&FP he’d decide in “coming weeks” if he will run again.

Community leader Judy Johnson passed away Monday, Oct. 7.A story on her impact in Kingfisher and beyond appeared in the Oct. 13 edition.Both Johnson and her husband, Mike Johnson, who preceded her in death, were graduates and ardent supporters of Oklahoma State University.

Commissioners enact countywide burn ban

Kingfisher County Commissioners declared a two-week burn ban in the county effective immediately at their weekly meeting Tuesday.District 2 Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek moved to begin the burn ban due to drought conditions and the possibility of high winds.
