The Okarche High School production of Jim Leonard, Jr.’s, “And They Dance Real Slow in Jackson” has advanced to the state finals in the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA) one-act play competition.OHS qualified by placing second at the Leedey regional contest.

Okarche Public Schools won’t be annexing to a technology center in the near future.That was assured at last Monday’s regular October meeting of the board of education.Members voted 5-0 against a resolution calling for an election to annex with a technology center school district.

Wine & Chocolate Festival goers will be able to taste wines from a dozen Oklahoma wineries and vintners and nine tables of chocolate Saturday afternoon in Hennessey.It will again be held at Memorial Park on Main Street from 2-6 p.m.

Five county towns enjoyed larger sales tax checks in October than they did in October 2020, according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission’s monthly report.Cashion had the biggest gain percentage wise, 84%, but Kingfisher, Hennessey, Dover, and Okarche also experienced satisfying increases.
