I’ve worked on a lot of legislation over my 12 years as a state representative, but one of the areas I’m proudest of is my work to increase dyslexia recognition and training for our public school teachers.

Howard McFarlin, 93, of Kingfisher, passed from this life on Oct. 21, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Kingfisher. Howard was born to Emery and Alice (Soric) McFarlin on May 30, 1927, in Agra.

Janath Louise (Struck) Walls, 77, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020. She was born in Oklahoma City to Bill and Mildred Struck. She attended Kingfisher High School before moving to Piedmont where she graduated. She owned and operated a beauty salon in Kingfisher, before later moving to El Paso, Texas.
