2 DKG essay winners place in state contest

Theta Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International received word that two of its chapter essay winners have placed second in the Oklahoma Organization of DKG. The seventh grader placing second was Katie Myers of Lomega. Her teacher is Whitney Hauser.

More sports awards coming soon

There will be a number of athletic awards and honors to report on in the next edition. The Oklahoman began printing its boys basketball awards over the weekend, which includes its own picks for All-City, all-state and Super 5. Girls honors were in last Wednesday’s edition.

County meeting minutes corrected

Minutes of the Kingfisher County Commissioners’ April 13 meeting, which were published in the April 22 Times & Free Press, contained incorrect information about a local confirmed case of COVID-19. The minutes reported a positive case at Cimarron Nursing Center.

KCRE cancel May 6 meeting

The Kingfisher County Retired Educators’ planned meeting for May 6 has been canceled. The group’s next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 2.
