The Kingfisher girls’ golf team opened its season Monday with a third-place finish at the Guthrie Invitational, which was played at Aqua Canyon. The Lady Jackets shot a 395, which tied them for second place with Oklahoma Christian School. OCS got second place on the scorecard playoff.
Sydney Manning is Sweet 16 bound. The Missouri State freshman scored seven points Monday, including a pivotal 3-pointer late in the second half, as the Lady Bears upset third-seeded Iowa State 69-60 in the second round of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament in Ames, Iowa.

Andrea Taylor was promoted from assistant coach to head coach of the Cash-ion girls program Monday morning, it was announced by Superintendent Sammy Jackson.
Services for Glenda Kaye Boeckman Wolf, 53, Kingfisher, are 10 a.m. Friday, March 29, at the Kingfisher High School APB.
Glenda was born March 18, 1966, in Kingfisher to Glen and Connie Boeckman.
She passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Arlene (Meier) Kuntz and her twin sister Darlene were born on a farm near Kingfisher on Dec. 22, 1930, to Walter C. and Elsie Meier.
She died March 20, 2019, at the age of 88.
Arlene graduated from Lacy High School and worked in Kingfisher at the ASCS office until she married Stanley Kuntz on Feb.

JAMI ADAMS of the Center of Family Love in Okarche was the guest speaker of the Kingfisher Rotary Club last Tuesday. Adams, pictured right, presented a history of the faith-based organization, which cares for adults with mental and physical disabilities.
