Fox tells KCC about health department progress

Kenneth “Ken” Lee Hill, 70, of Kingfisher, passed away in peace Sunday, March 10, 2019, at his home. Ken was born Sept. 15, 1948, in Okeene to George William and Mary Bell (Dodson) Hill. He graduated from Okeene High School in 1966.

I was disappointed with our City Council members vote, or should I say non-vote regarding the Sober Living Homes. It became obvious the zoning codes we were “required” by the City to apply for, never fit the need at all, as noted by those present at the meeting.

County urges defeat of bill stripping power

Kingfisher County commissioners are asking the State Legislature to vote down House Bill 2150 they say will further reduce county authority over rights-of-way. Commissioners sent the following letter to House members: The Board of County Commissioners of Kingfisher County oppose HB 2150.

County OKs vendor bids

Kingfisher County commissioners approved purchase bids from several vendors and a request from Big 4 Fire Department to purchase a tract of land adjacent to the fire department building at their weekly meeting Monday.

Hennessey board OKs $15K jail updates

A state jail inspector’s report shows more changes have to be made to the Hennessey Police Department’s jail. That’s what Police Chief Hank Weber told town board members in a special meeting Wednesday morning before they approved spending $15,000 for improvements.
