2 county paving projects move 1 step closer

County Commission Chairman Jeff Moss will hold a pre-construction meeting at 8 a.m. Thursday at the county commissioner office in the courthouse in Kingfisher on paving projects in Districts 1 and 3.Bids were opened two weeks ago with Schwarz Paving Co. of Oklahoma City, the low bidder.

A new tradition started last week at Kingfisher High School. The student body gathered around the flag plaza outside the front doors of KHS for a flag raising ceremony on Aug. 19 to commemorate the start of a new school year.

Six Kingfisher High School seniors were guests recently at a meeting of the Kingfisher Rotary Club.Joining the local civic group were Hayden Green, Santiago Ortega, Maddox Jarvis, Evan Duey, Paytun Burnham and Jairo Velarde.Green is the son of Randy Green and Claudia Green.

Hennessey United board elects Hajek as new president

Scott Hajek was elected president of the Hennessey United Association during the board’s Thursday, Aug. 15, reorganizational meeting.Hajek, who was appointed to that board in 2018, is known as the “go-to-guy” to call for help with any project.
