Loftis reports on rising COVID-19 cases

Coronavirus continues to increase in Kingfisher County. County Emergency Management Director Steve Loftis related at Monday’s meeting of the Kingfisher County commissioners that the number of COVID-19 active cases had risen by eight since last week’s meeting, from 151 to 159.

Nusz, Chavez top winners at annual Rudolph Romp 5K

Jenny Nusz and Luis Chavez were the overall winners of last week’s Rudolph Romp. The annual 5K race is a fundraiser for Kingfisher Winter Nights. Nusz ran the course in 23:58.21 to place first among females as well as her 40-49 age group. Chavez won the men’s race in just 15:59.76.

Okarche returns from layoff with sweep

A long layoff did little to hurt Logan Kroener’s shooting stroke. The Okarche senior scored 17 points last Friday to help boost his team to a 57-50 road win against Fairview. It was Okarche’s first game since opening the season Nov. 6 at Preston.
