Steph Snider seated a table-full of people at her Kingfisher restaurant on a Sunday several months ago and asked for their drink order.Multiple people in the party desired an alcoholic beverage, but Snider had to inform them she was unable to do so due to the current law in Kingfisher County.

EARLY VOTES were already coming in at a brisk pace at the Kingfisher County Courthouse when Kelley Alig cast his ballot Friday morning. Early voting in the presidential primaries as well as the two county alcohol questions continues through 2 p.m. Saturday at the courthouse.

Kaden Mitchell, a senior at Hennessey High School, paged for House Majority Leader Mike Sanders the week of Feb. 24-27 at the state Capitol. Mitchell is the son of Arlinda Vincent. He said after high school he plans to attend Oklahoma State University to get a degree in agribusiness and pre-law.

Kingfisher County Retired Educators will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the Kingfisher Memorial Library. Kurt Bollenbach of Kingfisher will be the speaker. Bollenbach was appointed to the state Board of Education last April by Gov. Kevin Stitt.

Okarche should have its next superintendent named this week. The board of education has set a special meeting for 7 p.m. Monday, March 2. The only item on the agenda is: “Consideration and action on employment of Superintendent of Schools for the 2020-2021 school year.

Four Kingfisher High School seniors joined the Kingfisher Rotary Club last Tuesday at the civic group’s weekly luncheon. The guests were Tanner Thompson, Rickey Smith, Reese Hart and Matthew Palmer. Thompson is the son of Diane and Corey Thompson.

Kingfisher’s board of education on Monday will mull a number of new hires and may consider changes to public participation at meetings that was criticized at last month’s meeting. The board will hold it March regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday.
